The eM Program

The Empowering Microentrepreneurs (eM) Program aims to grow and scale microentrepreneurs in a sustainable manner by providing customized support, outcome-based training, and development solutions.

By empowering microentrepreneurs, we strengthen the economic backbone of the country.

niiti eM-power Workshops

niiti has taken a special initiative this year to motivate and support a 1000 women from social economically disadvantaged backgrounds under its eM-Power programme to take up self employment / micro entrepreneurship.

Empowering women entrepreneurs is an economic priority that will bring considerable benefits to India’s economy. Already, India’s women own 13.5–15.7 million businesses, accounting for 20 percent of all the country’s enterprises.

We have conducted workshops in Haryana, Delhi, J&K and UP until now. Workshops will be held at multiple locations of Rajasthan in the month of September.

    niiti will conduct this workshop in two modules
    Topics covered will include

    1. How to develop a business idea
    2. Self employment V/s small business from home- how to make it work
    3. Ideas for small Buiness / self employment
    4. The 5Cs one should consider when setting up and running a small business from home
    5. Familiarity with  options and Goverment schemes for women to get started.
    For women who are keen to move to the next stage, we can run followup workshops on creating a business plan or do customised service support in marketing, access to finance or building teams and operations.
